December 6 2006 Just a few days ago my brother Tommy Brechtlein sent me the new Steve Weingart CD named Dark Blue Dream. The CD is absolutely great and Tommy plays so great throughout all of the tracks; I wrote a special review and you can find it right here. Thanks a lot Tommy!
November 6 2006 Super Trio is also the title of a new CD (Japan only release) that captures the Chick Corea Trio live at the World Theater in Austin, Texas on April 3, 2005. The great Steve Gadd plays drums and Chris McBride is on bass. For further infos and mp3 samples just click right here.
November 5 2006 Viva Carlos!/A Supernatural Marathon Celebration is the title of a new guitar/tribute CD (out now) honoring Carlos Santana. The band includes Dave Weckl on drums along with Luis Conte on percussion and Abe Laboriel on bass. Further infos on Audiophile Imports web site.
October 30 2006 Today I feel really brave... and so I just posted some funny mp3s coming out of my little studio and due to the good response I had from a lot of guys it seems they're not so bad (I'm not with them...) and... I decided (aargh...) to tell you that they're available in My Drumset page of this site... You know, I like to press the record button when I'm practicing and sometimes I get something really funny... I can't believe I'm telling you about this...

September 27 2006 I can't deny the great, great emotion I had when I finally found (and right after, when I saw it...) Everyone Stares, the Stewart Copeland's DVD/movie about his life with The Police. It's all about Stewart's personal super 8 movies shot during the unbelievable ride of the greatest band of our times. It really shows things from a different and unique perspective and from the drummer's seat. Bonus footage are also really great and the commentary by Andy and Stewart it's really precious. If you're a fan this is absolutely a must!!! They changed my life and the face of contemporary music... forever... Check out further details just clicking right here or right here.
September 19 2006 What a great gig I've attended tonight! I was at the Porcupine Tree gig here in Rome and the great Gavin Harrison was behind the drums. The show was awesome and so special and so I decided to write something about it; read my full review just clicking right here going in my reviews section. Anyway, if the band is playing near you, don't miss it for any reason!
September 1 2006 According to the official Virgil Donati web site his new DVD Live In Stockholm will be released in December 2006. The DVD has been recorded during the Drum and Bass Festival in November 2005; shot with 5 cameras and with a Stereo/5.1 audio the DVD is filled with lot of extras taken form recent drum events around the world. August 4 2006 Arriving Somewhere... is the title of the new Porcupine Tree (with the great Gavin Harrison on drums) official live DVD. It will be released on October 9th (UK/Europe), October 10th (Usa) and September 27th (Japan). Details unveiled: It will be a 2 DVD set containing the full show recorded in Chicago in October 2005 and it's filled with lot of extras placed on the 2nd dvd. August 3 2006 Another leg of the Jeff Beck 2006 tour has been added. The band obviously includes the great Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and the tour (20 gigs) will take place in the USA starting on September 6 from Tampa, FL and it will end on October 1 in Mesa, Ar. June 27 2006 Finally... Great news from the great Gavin Harrison; he has now a (beautiful) new and redesigned web site right here and his new DVD Rhythmic Horizon is out now and can be purchased through his website and also right here . Also, the new PP3 Live DVD should be out around the end of the summer, so... we just can't wait to see...
June 14 2006 I've just got my copy of Shapes, the new CD by German drummer Wolfgang Haffner. The CD is full of great compositions and shows Wolf's great talent as a composer that goes really beyond his great abilities as a drummer. Wolfgang surely belongs to that category that someone defines like "musicians that play drums" and I completely agree with that. If you look for good music you'll be really happy with this one. May 16 2006 These are busy times for Keith Carlock that in addition to the recording of new CDs from Faith Hill, Leni Stern, Diana Ross and Walter Becker has just finished the Donald Fagen's tour and will be on the upcoming tour with Steely Dan/Michael McDonald this summer over USA from July 7 to Spetember 2. April 16 2006 It seems like these days we have a lot of chances to see Neil Peart at work... On June 13 2006 will be released Rush Replay X3, a DVD/Box set that includes the DVD version of the band's three concert home videos (Exit... Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure and A Show Of Hands) previously available only on VHS. The package includes a bonus CD soundtrack from Grace Under Pressure. Click right here for further infos.
April 3 2006 Yellowjackets celebrate their 25th anniversary with the release of Twenty-Five, a special CD/DVD package that includes two different live performances recorded during their European tour in the fall of 2005. The bonus DVD will also includes a lot of extra footage like behind the scenes, interviews and more. The release date is set for May 23 2006. Further details on Yellowjackets web site.
March 30 2006 The Royal Dan is the title of the new instrumental tribute CD dedicated to the music of Steely Dan. It's produced by Jeff Richman and the band includes (among others) Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and Jimmy Haslip on bass and a different guitarist for each track. Here's some details: Peg w/Robben Ford, Bodhisattva w/Steve Morse, Home At Last w/Jay Gradon, Aja w/Al DiMeola, Pretzel Logic w/Steve Lukather, Dirty Work w/Mike Stern, The Fez w/Jimmy Herring, FM w/Frank Gambale, Hey Nineteen w/Elliott Randall, (Richman is the featured soloist on Josie). The cd will be released on Tone Center on May 9. I just can't wait to listen...

March 20 2006 A forthcoming short tour by Jeff Beck with Vinnie Colaiuta on drums it's been officially announced. The tour will starts in Tempe, Arizona on March 31 and it will close on April 7 in Palm Desert, California. Who's going...? You lucky guys... Just click here for further details

February 22 2006 Now it's official... Peter Erskine switched to DW and yesterday I was here in Rome attending his first clinic/concert with his new
drumset. For what I see he was using a 18x16 Bass Drum, 12x8 Tom, 14x14 Floor Tom (lacquered finish) and a couple of different snares: an unidentified one 14x3.5 for the clinic (different finish and lugs) and a 14x5.5 (same set finish) for the gig.

February 3 2006 New DVD out for Simon Phillips and his Vantage Point project with the release of Too Much Rain. This video comes in high definition, it lasts 52 minutes and shows the whole band in the studio performing a set of brand new material. Further infos on audiophileimports.com
January 29 2006 Sketchin' 2 is the title of the new Rob Whitlock's CD, following the release of the great Sketchin' CD from last year. The great band features Vinnie Colaiuta and Cliff Almond on drums along with Anthony Jackson on bass and Michael Brecker on saxophone. Due to be released on February 24.
January 28 2006 On March 14th will be released Live-New Morning The Paris Concert 2004, the first full length live DVD by Mike Stern. This is a great chance to see his trio with Richard Bona on bass and vocals and Dennis Chambers on drums. This gig was recorded on November 9/10 2004 at the New Morning jazz club in Paris and the whole DVD has a running time of 115 minutes.
January 12 2006 According to a recent interview on Drumscene magazine, Sting is working on his new record with his 4 piece band that includes Josh Freese on drums and Dominic Miller and Lyle Workman on guitar. Josh said that the record is really different from Sting's latest CDs (finally...) and that the whole band is involved in the shaping of the songs (no more Kipper... I hope...). No more infos and no release date yet for now.
